To preface, you should know that Danny is my first memory. Literally. If I think back as far as I can think, there I see Danny in some totally sweet really short 80's shorts and shirt with his little Danny fro. We are at preschool pretending that we run our own restaurant by scribbling non-legible markings on a small peice of paper and asking "would you like something to drink with that? cool aid? ok.".
You see - Danny and I have always been entrepreneurs and partners in crime. When we were in junior high at Zion Lutheran private school, we started a black market for candy. We would buy cheap candy bars, etc at Price Club (the same as CostCo) and then sell the candies for a mark up at lunch time at school. This was completely against the rules, so it had to be kept secret. Later on, we upgraded to fireworks. We once got caught with a bag of approx. 50 M-80's. BIG TROUBLE! Generally, Danny and I spent most of our lunch periods in the principle's office. To be honest, I really don't remember why. We never did anything wrong...
I also remember that Danny and I used to trade baseball cards, and other sports cards. One time we made a trade that involved some cards for some chickens... that's right... chickens. I don't really remember the specifics of the deal, but some how our parents ended up getting involved because there was a miscalculation in the value of a fair trade. In any case, I think that you are starting to get the picture of how Danny and I have been partners in business and crime for a long time.
Our most recent venture involved online commerce. We had this great idea to develop a platform that would later be known as amazon.com - a website where merchants could create their own niche market or storefront while capitalizing on the vast market of the larger company (the mall). The idea was solid, but as with most of our ideas, it became a "learning experience". We have had a lot of those. I know that some day, we will gather all of our knowledge from failed businesses and start a successful one.
There are a couple things about Danny that I am particularily fond of... such as the fact that he is one of the only people that I can call super early in the morning, and he usually answers, or you never know how he will react to a situation... it's always a surprise, and it keeps things interesting.
I could go on and on, but the point is that Danny rules!
